As a consultant to Speechworks Intl.,
designed and wrote OpenVXI, an interpreter for VoiceXML, a language
for developing speech-based applications on the Web. This interpreter has
been released as Open Source and is available at SourceForge or CMU.
During January 2001, I developed and taught an intensive (one semester
in one month, 6 days a week) course in Object-Oriented
Programming in Java for ArsDigita University, an interesting experiment in
free, high-quality computer science education. Lectures and course materials
are (or at least were) available at the
ArsDigita University site.
